The Daimler Super Eight, based on Jaguar’s X350 platform, bridged the traditional and modern eras of the marque. The retro styling hid 21st century technology: the body was an all-aluminium unitary construction, and other features included sound-reducing glass. The supercharged 4.2-litre V-8 was mated to a six-speed auto gearbox. Engine produces 400 BHP giving 0-60 time of 5 seconds with top speed governed at 155 MPH.

It was the final production model to be built at Browns Lane and the last Daimler model that will ever be made, making this rare example a future classic. The British government and UK Royal Household are among the small number of buyers: total production over five years was 731 cars.

This example was ordered in Garnet with contrasting ivory leather interior and caramel piping with the individual rear seating configuration.. Also specified were 20" Alloy Wheels, lamb’s wool carpets, boxwood inlays, an electric rear sunblind, electric front and rear heated seats, touch-screen centre control unit, four-zone climate control, sat nav and TV screens in the headrests.

Believed to be just one of 2 supplied by Jaguar Ireland in this spec, it cost an eye watering €186,000 in 2007. The other one is apparently now in the UK making this the sole survivor.

Impeccably maintained by Spirit Jaguar it was most recently serviced 1100 kms ago at a cost of €6692 which included 4 new Dunlop tyres

Supplied in top retail condition, the car has just had the split rim alloys dismantled, refurbished and rebuilt, bumpers refinished with parking sensors repaired. Finally coachwork has been machine polished resulting in a fabulous looking car.

Surely there cannot be too many of the 731 of these made that have been one family owned with such low mileage and maintained with no expense spared in RHD. Certainly this is the finest in Ireland and will prove to be a fabulous addition to the most discerning Jaguar aficionado’s collection.

Comes with both keys, book pack with stamped up service history and some recent invoices
