Unearthed - One owner 6000 mile 1993 MK 3 Fiesta C 1.1 CVT

As the 48 year production run of the iconic Ford Fiesta draws to an end, a remarkable early  survivor has surfaced in Co. Donegal, Ireland.

Dublin classic car dealer David Golding has uncovered an incredible 1 owner 6000 mile 1991 Ford Fiesta C MK3 1.1 automatic. Sold new out of Hendersons Ford Main Dealers in Sligo to a lady in Donegal, the car was used car sparingly until 2002.

Squirrelled away in dry storage for over 20 years, the car has been preserved in astonishing, timewarp condition. 3 of the original, now 33 year old, Goodyear tyres are even present. Factory test stickers are still on the seat belt casings and bolts. Amazing details also include the Hendersons branded complimentary duster as well their mudflaps and decals.

Starting and driving, this car is a reminder of the ubiquitous hatch common all over Ireland and Britain during that era. A car so many people learned to drive in, there was a Fiesta in nearly every family.

David says that in his 36 years buying and selling classic cars this has to be one of the most exceptional examples of a most unexceptional car that he has has ever stocked!

guide of €5000-€8000.

Car starts and drives though after such a long period of inactivity it would need a thorough recommissioning if it is to be returned to the road if that is to be the buyer's intention.

Issues in particular that need addressing are the handbrake isn't great, the rear wiper is inoperative and the temperature gauge is not reading. Tyres would need replacing. Rear exhaust box has deterioated.

Notable for their originality are the 2 rear and spare Goodyear tyres which are dated 1991 so are the original factory fitted tyres. The front 2 were replaced in 2001 along with the rear exhaust box which was changed for a genuine Ford item. Front headlamps are replacement Valeo items. Front brake hoses and alternator have also been replaced.

Remarkably the seat belt fittings still carry the red factory quality control stickers.

Car appears to have some paintwork noticeably but perhaps not exclusively to the rear quarter panels and the front panel at date/dates unknown.

Car was supplied by Hendersons Main Ford Dealers in Sligo and carries their rear window sticker, tax disc holder, service sticker reminder, rear mud flaps and complimentary branded yellow duster.

Comes with jack and wheel brace, complete owners book pack, old NCT and tax discs.
