HISTORY
Purchased new directly from Mercedes factory In Germany by Irish diplomat who had been posted to Zambia
Car was specified to suit the conditions there with heavy duty suspension and thick Mercedes coco mats that have preserved the carpets in timewarp condition.
A subsequent posting to Tanzania led to the car being shipped home to Ireland as the roads there at that time were so poor.
The car went into storage here and was subsequently registered in Ireland once the owner completed his tours of duty overseas.
The car went on to serve as the gentleman’s daily driver for an amazing 40 years
It is now just run in with 253k kms and drives beautifully having had no expense spared in its upkeep with a local Mercedes specialist.
NCT to 2026 was recently completed despite car being exempt due to it being 40 years old. Road tax is the vintage rate of €56.

CONDITION
Externally the car presents in generally sound condition. However there is some bubbling on the rear deck at both bottom corners near the rear screen. The bonnet, front left wing and rear of the car have poor/mismatched paint. See pix for more,
Chrome is good though some of the door chromes have faded. Front and rear screens have very small areas of glue separation.
There is some rust appearing on seam of rear panel inside the boot. The underside is on the whole in excellent original condition. There is a plate welded in on the right hand side. The rear side valances are crusty underneath and both rear wheel arch lips have rust to the inner rears - see photos for full picture.
inside again the car is very good and original for a 40 year example. Drivers seat facings are little worn and seat base has sagged. A kit is available online for €40 to repack this.
there are a couple of cracks to dash top
Mechanically the car drives exceptionally well for its age though central locking is not working. ac has just been regassed and is working fine, I will get the exhaust blow fixed next week prior to sale.
Tyres are mismatched and are dated from 2017-2024. The spare is a very old Semperit
