Sold new in Italy in 1989, this car spent the first 15 years of its life in the Napoli area. It arrived in the UK in 2005 where it was MOT'd on import with the kms reading 62,000. By 2014 mileage had reached 85,008 when it failed an MOT on tyres, emissions and bulb failure. It was never retested and today those same tyres are still on the car. These appear to be the original tyres.
I acquired this car in 2019 for myself to replace one I had in 2011 that I always regretted selling.
Off the road for many years, a genuine low mileage car, it was in fabulous cosmetic condition with high gloss paintwork bar one rear door and lovely Poltona Frau Black leather and rosewood burr interior. The ultimate '80s wolf in sheeps's clothes and very rare to boot. A really good project I planned to fix up and enjoy.
Several years later I have just had the car delivered back after a major engine recommissioning with the following work carried out by Italian car specialist:

During this time my personal taste has developed into a fondness for a certain German marque so I am reluctantly offering this for auction. Needing some further light recommissioning it is a unique opportunity to acquire an Irish registered car with all the hard and costly work done.
Cosmetically, the previosly painted rear door has suffered lacquer fade and lift and the boot lid has some rust appearing around the rear spoiler aperture. The spoiler itself works fine.
Realistically guided to allow a new owner complete the car to his liking. Other than the tyres and paint on 2 panels, there are a few small issues to fettle:
the cold start injector is currently manually operated an a switch as it isn't not coming off automatically. The idle speed has been set to suit this arrangement.
the rear headrest wiring has been affected by a short at some stage. )these headrests would raise automatically when passengers sit in the rear seats) the overheated wiring has damaged a trim panel in the boot.
Electrics generally are good and unmessed with. Car has electric heated seats and electric retractable heated mirrors. A few minor issues include heated seat switches along with one passenger seat switch need replacing. The elecric aerial is not working. The oil level sender and/ or wiring is faulty resulting in the warning light being constantly on.
Also boot latch and struts need replacing
Comes with owners manual and some early Italian paperwork along with old MOT and some invoices.
