Hidden on a warehouse shelf for 26 years is this remarkable 1984 MG Maestro 1600
Original Dublin car with just 3 owners and 87,000 miles
Incredible survivor
Car starts up on independent fuel supply.
Now on the market for the first time since 1988
Is there another left?
Sold new in August 1984 to a Dublin based company who kept the car til 1986.
2nd lady owner used for 2 years before current lady owner took over in 1988
car was used as her daily driver until 1998
At that stage car was shelved in dry warehouse until now.
Car is complete though will need thorough recommissioning before returning to the road
Body is generally good though as can be seen in the photos the front right bumper corner is broken and there are several small areas of rust most noticeably on the tailgate. Please see photos for all blemishes. Drivers front wing looks like it was resprayed at some stage.
Interior is complete though grubby. The rear seat top is perished. The voice synthesiser is present and working though missing a couple of buttons.
Mechanically car will start with battery booster and independent petrol supply. It moves forward with clutch appearing to be OK. Rear brakes are sticking
Car comes with owners manual and replacement door handle, fuel tank sensor and clutch cable
This should prove to be a most rewarding, straight forward project resulting in a unique car that will attract attention wherever it is shown.
