1983 Mercedes 200T Estate

2.0 petrol 4 speed

115,000 miles

Guide 3000--6000

Originally supplied in the UK, car came to Ireland in 2009. It was first registered here with 83CE reg before being changed to ZV. Last owner owned it for several years but in more recent years has been laid up. Last taxed in 2022.

Starts and drives though brakes appear to be binding. Engine and box feel strong. Tyres are dated 2012 and are cracking on the side walls. Instruments are working. Oil pressure is good and temperature is normal on gauge.

Electric aerial and modern stereo fitted and in working order. Central locking is working on 4 doors but not on the tailgate

FAULTS

Wipers front and rear are inoperative. Drivers side window is not working on the winder. Glass is detached from the regulator.

Body is generally solid with presentable paintwork. There some small blemishes around the car - see photos and video. Also a scrape on the right rear wheel arch. Chrome bumpers and grill are good. Left tail lamp is faded. Wheel arches are good. Door bottoms are OK with the exception of the right rear which is a bit flaky. Again see photos and video.

Underside whilst good overall has 2/3 areas that could do with tidying especially the end of the right rear sill.

INTERIOR:

Inside is good with no major wear to seats. Cargo nets could do with tightening to rear of seats. Headlining and carpets are good though front and rear left footwells have evidence of damp. Interior trim over rear tailgate is detached. Dash has couple of splits. Aftermarket wooden steering wheel.

HISTORY FILE:

There is a small history file with service book, old invoices and NCTs Not enough to warrant mileage but nothing there to suggest it's incorrect

SUMMARY:

An honest car that wears its 41 years well. Sort the wipers and window then a good service and new tyres would see the car back into usable condition.

After that decide what if any attention to give the cosmetics.

Realistically guided to reflect the spend required though once done this will be a fine example of what is a rapidly appreciating and rare car.
